The app can't find my TV
Check that the phone and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi, and that the TV is on or showing art. Tap “Find automatically” in settings, or type the address in by hand: on the TV you'll find it under Settings → General → Network → Network Status.
Which TVs work?
Art TVs from the 2021, 2022 and 2023 model years. Newer models closed the local interface the app uses, so unfortunately they can't be used.
How do I send an image?
Tap “Show on the TV” on the card, and that's it — the image uploads and appears. To send several at once, tap “Select multiple”, tick the cards and send them together.
What are the API keys in settings?
Entirely optional. The Art Institute of Chicago and The Met work with no setup. If you also want Rijksmuseum, Pexels or Unsplash, get a free key from the source — tap “Get key” next to the field — and paste it in. For Unsplash, use the Access Key, not the Secret key.
The upload stopped
The TV accepts one image at a time and occasionally needs a couple of seconds between them. A message tells you what went wrong — tap “Show on the TV” again to retry.
The image looks wrongly cropped
The TV shows 16:9. Tap “Edit” on the card and drag the crop where you want it before sending. A mat can give the motif a little air.
How do I remove an image from the TV?
Open the “On the TV” tab. Everything you have uploaded is there: choose what to display, let the app show a random work, or tap “Delete” to remove an image from the TV for good.
